Failing In Network Marketing: Are You Treating Your Business Like a Job?

Robert Kiyosaki stated in his book, “Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing” that the goal of creating a business should be to make more money working less. This is something he and other entrepreneurs have accomplished.

To establish a business that just about runs itself, it is helpful, but not necessary to get involved in something that you enjoy or are passionate about. Why? Because you will have a tendency to stay through the rough times, which every entrepreneur must endure during the business building stage. But, if your passion becomes more like a job and not like a business, you will not stay. This is because you will end up hating it due to the hours and hard work that you will be enduring. It is understandable that in the beginning you will be putting in the hours and hard work, but this is not where you want to remain. What you want is the ability where you put in the hours and hard work early in the business building process so that later, when your business has reached its full potential and is bringing in a sizeable income, you will have more freedom of time .

The way to create a business that gives you more freedom of time, energy and passion about your business is to manage your business less like a job and more like a business. You need to learn to love not only your business but also the marketing aspects of your business. For example, if you love writing articles but you do not love internet marketing, then the chances of finding success in your article writing is slim to none. Of course, there are always exceptions, but this is the rule. If you love having a business and you understand how to make money on the internet, then you will have a much better chance at becoming successful in your article writing.

I have stated in the past that in order to have success in any business, you need skills in marketing, sells, and communication. Without these three basic skills, you won’t be able to make money. These skills are necessary to help you with your marketing and sales.

To help you with your business, you also need to set some priorities. One of the first I suggest you do is to find a business model to follow, one that works. Most network marketing companies and MLM’s already have an established business model. If you are a member of a network marketing company or MLM, the business model along with marketing methods, should have already been presented to you. If not, find your upline or mentor and have him or her share with you the company’s business model and train you on how to market your business. If you are unable to find an upline member or mentor to help you, you might want to consider finding another company that does offer this. It will be very difficult to grow your business if you have no idea what the business model is and how to bring people to purchase your products or service.

If you own your own company, you will need to do some research and find a business model to follow, one that is actually making money. You want a business model that works. Find out how much money and how many hours are put into their business. If you are not willing to put in the same amount of hours, then find another business model. The goal is to find a business model that you know you can follow.

In conclusion, if your business doesn’t run without you, then you don’t own a business, you own a job. Another important fact to keep in mind is freedom can’t come unless you learn how to not only make money, but also learn how to manage money.

How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything…

There are so many variables into achieving success in a business opportunity. But the most important variable to achieving success in your business is you. Sucess comes from within, not from any extraneous source like a mentor, a group of mentors, a company, a product, and so on. It is you, your work ethic, your drive, your belief in your abilities and in yourself and much more.

Winston Churchill was known as a great orator, but it has been noted that he spent a lot of his time developing this skill. He wasn’t a natural in the beginning, but he worked at it until he mastered it. He became a powerful and mesmerizing speaker. One of his most famous speeches during World War II was the following:

“Never, never, never, never, never, in the nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force, never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”

At this time, Churchill and his people were in danger of being bombed and overrun by the German military. Although you are not going through what he and his people went through, you can still apply those words of courage to your daily life. There are days when you will encounter problems at once, but don’t give in to them, ever!

Ultimately, it is your mindset that determines your success, not only in your business, but in your life. There is a saying, “How you do anything is how you do everything.” The meaning implies that if you apply a certain set of proven success principles and habits to one area of your life, you can also do the same in other areas of your life. This also holds true with not so successful principles and habits. Thus, what you do anytime is what you do everytime and if you want to change the everytime, you must change the anytime.

You can apply these same principles to building an online business. If you follow the steps that have worked for many other people, you too can too can achieve success in whatever field you are in. But, first, you must get in the right mindset. Once your thinking in lined up with the business of marketing on the internet, you will have financial success in your business. It is your inner game that leads to building a successful online business. You can then apply what you have used in achieving success in your business to achieving success in life. Remember that how you do anything is how you do everything.

Overcoming Obstacles In Your Business

As entrepreneurs, we all encounter them, obstacles which are viewed as a nuisance, but did you know they are also an asset to your business?

I never considered having a business of my own. I had always been taught to go to school, get good grades so that I could get into a university. This would allow me to get a good job once I graduated from college. I did all of this and more. I had a very successful career as a software engineer. I felt that the values I had been taught early in life were going to lead me to having a nice, comfortable life.

But somewhere along the way, this nice, comfortable life started to fall apart. As a software engineer, I was making a six figure income. But then the downsizings changed all of this. After going through three downsizings and not able to recover as quickly from them, I lost everything, my car, home, my way of life. The next thing I knew, I was moving back in with my mother at the age of 42. I had been on my own since I was 18.

This quickly changed my perspective on life and I began to come to the realization that things had to change. I no longer had any desire to work for anybody anymore. I wanted my own business. This was about the time when I discovered the home business industry. The year was 2003.

Like many entrepreneurs, the road to self employment was a rough one. Being a shy and introverted person who suffered from a speech impediment, I found answering phones and going out talking to people to be very intimidating. But, with a LOT of practice, in a years time, answering phones and talking to people became easier. I was also making sales. Most months, I was averaging about $200-$300 per month. But I also had some months where I made $2500-$4000. I even had one month where I made over $10,000. But overall, this being my first home business, failure came knocking. Soon the business I thought was going to bring me financial freedom and allow me to quit my job came to an abrupt halt. I just could not keep up with the attrition rate.

Thus, this experience lead me to the internet where again I went through a lot of trial and error trying to learn how to market on the internet and again I was averaging an income of about $200-$300 per month. A little under a year, I was introduced to CarbonCopyPro. Since joining this business, I have learned so much. It was not easy, but one thing I have learned through all of the turmoil I have experienced in my attempt to create a successful business is that I have a strong desire and because I continue to work on myself and have not allowed the obstacles stop me, I have become more skilled at marketing and more knowlegeable about business. Although obstacles tend to lead to frustrations, they also force us to evaluate what works and what doesn’t work. This is how we learn and discover solutions to problems in our business building process and we become better at finding solutions to our problems. We also learn a lot about ourselves, such as what we can and cannot do. What we cannot do, we realize that this is a weakness that needs improvement.

Most successful entrepreneurs strive to discover ways to consistently improve their product or services. It makes no diffference if you own a small business or a corporation, success is dependent on growth. To achieve growth, we must always be looking for new ways to improve our business strategies in an effort to lead our business to the next level of success.

As an entrepreneur, you ultimately come to the realization, that opportunity doesn’t come knocking at your door. You have to actively pursue your dreams. That’s the difference between dreamers and do’ers. Successful entrepreneurs start out with a dream of owning a business. They don’t just sit there and dream of being successful, they diligently pursue the steps required to achieve their goals.

Today, I am one of the leaders in my business. I did not start out being one of the leaders. I studied and worked very hard to attain the skills I now possess, pay-per-click being one of those skills. I still have a lot to learn and as an entreprenuer learning is part of what we do. There is no graduation for the entrepreneur. We are always going to have to face learning new skills or acquiring new knowledge on various subjects about business. This means we will ultimately have to face more challenges. But with each challenge and the ability to overcome these challenges, we develop strength and it helps to build the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur.

If you follow the basic examples of ensuring your business success, you’ll be on the road to owning a thriving, product, and lucrative business. You will be recognized as a leader for newcomers embarking on the threshold of entreprenurship. Entrepreneurs are known as leaders, not followers, pave the way for the next generation of entrepreneurs to model their success by.

I don’t know of any entrepreneurs that are self made success stories. All of us receive advise from experts and colleagues that hav a proven success record in their areas of expertise.
