Some say that at least 70%+ of you are making the switch to Home business due to lack of feelings of happiness and fulfillment in your life. For this reason, it is important for you to understand what you really want to achieve from your home business. Personally, I have been trying to define in my life what really makes me happy and how I can make money at it. What I am looking for is much more than money. I am looking for calm and a sense of peace in my life.
To find out if you are really ready to work for yourself from home? Ask yourself the following questions:
1. Do you have a hobby that you would do daily for free?
This is one of the keys to success and happiness in a home business. You must have drive and passion in order to succeed. Doing something you really enjoy will help make the bumps in the road smoother. Also, doing something you really enjoy will help you to tolerate the remaining time at your ‘other’ job. Please do not choose a home business based only on your perceived earning potential. If you do, the chances are you won’t have the long-term persistence needed to succeed.
2. Is it money that you really want or is it the freedom of choice you really want?
This is a critical question because, again, if it is solely money you are looking for you will not have the enthusiasm and passion needed for long-term success. Focus on doing what you love and the money will follow. People will see your enthusiasm and it will spread to your clients.
3. Are people you work with dragging you down emotionally and spiritually?
One thing I know for sure is that I no longer want to be around negative people. Mark Twain has a great saying “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.
Everyone knows a person like the character on Saturday Night Live “Debbie Downer.” Lets face it, some people are only happy if they are complaining about something or are raining on someone else’s parade. Avoid these people at all costs. Remember, it is better to be alone and focused and passionate about what you are doing.
4. Do you want to start off fresh where you are in control?
Starting your own home business is like having a clean tapestry for painting. You control your destiny. You control what “colors” to use. Think big, never small, and you can do it.
5. Do you enjoy helping others when you can?
Owning your own business provides you with an opportunity to give back to your community. This also provides an excellent Barter and Networking opportunity. Help as much as you can afford to and these good deeds will come back to help you in the future.
Have faith in the overall good in people but, at the same time, realize that some people might try to take advantage of your generosity. Use bartering in some of the situations to help lower your overall costs.
6. Do you believe in expanding your mind through research and networking?
If you enjoy research you will be well served by starting your own business. You will have to learn some Accounting basics and Marketing skills as well as some Tax basics. Network with people who can help you in these areas. Suggest bartering your services with them. This is a great way to get advertising for your home business. If you come across a dishonest person, break the relationship as quickly and tactfully as possible – they will only cause you harm and heartache.
7. Are you dedicated and disciplined?
Setting up a schedule and ‘things to do’ list will greatly help with your organizational and time management problems. You must be disciplined and stick to your schedule. Complete one task at a time and move to the next. MANY business have failed because of having to many‘irons in the fire.’ This leads to lack of focus, which is one of the number one reasons that businesses fail.
8. Are you prepared to ignore the negative ‘nay sayers’?
There will always be people who are jealous of your drive, passion and determination. Accept that fact and don’t let them take up any of your time. If the Nay Sayer is your spouse or another family member, sit them down and tell them how much your new business means to you and your future together. If they cannot be positive, ask them not to comment at all. Usually after family members see how hard you are working they will come around and begin to support you. Try getting them involved with smaller tasks that they can take off your plate.
9. Are you prepared to work at your other job until your Home Business takes off?
This is something that people don’t think enough about. You should be prepared to stay at your ‘other’ job for at least six months while building your home business. Many people have quit only to find the HB doesn’t provide enough immediate income so they have to crawl back to the old job.
10. Are you prepared to take an open and honest look at your behaviors?
This is something that I really had to be honest with myself about. For years I had grown a negative attitude, almost to the point that I had a chip on my shoulder. Upon really looking at my behavior I saw that I had created negative ‘anchors’ that were standing in the way of my success. When I looked at a job, all the negative feelings from my previous jobs flooded into me. Be conscious of what you are feeling, and be prepared to eliminate the negative and accentuate the positive. Remember, Bill Gates started in a dorm room, Michael Dell started in a garage. Do not be afraid. You CAN do it – it takes a plan, discipline, hard work and follow through.
In closing, let me say once again that you can do it. You deserve success and the happiness it brings. Franklin D. The best example of passive residual income is interest earned on money in a bank or other investments. It gets paid or credited to the investor without him or her having to invest any time to produce it.
Another advantage is leverage of time and money. There is only 24 hours in a day and no matter how talented one is or how much an employee gets paid per hour, if you don’t take advantage of leverage, an individual is limited by the number of hours in the day. By learning to leverage time, one can benefit from a percentage of other people’s efforts and dramatically increase their income and freedom.
Unfortunately, in most traditional businesses, the only ones who benefit from leverage are the owners and stockholders. The loyal hard working employees do most of the work. The great thing about the network marketing business model is that everyone has the same opportunity to become the ‘owner’ of their own business with a fraction of the investment of time and money of a traditional business or franchise.
The third and last advantage to owning a network marketing business is duplication or the ‘power of one’. The only way to explain what is meant by duplication is by using the following example. Say one starts with one penny, and doubles it every for 30 days, how much will he or she have earned at the end of 30 days? Would you believe five million dollars! ($5,368.708 to be exact).
This is a simple illustration of how network marketing can work. If I can teach another person, I’ve doubled myself. If we teach each other, we’ve doubled again, and so on and so forth. This goes on and on and can produce amazing results in a relatively short amount of time, just like the penny example.
The easier the program is to do, the lower the cost to get involved, the more people one can appeal to and the greater the potential of duplication. Programs that are too complicated or too expensive for the ‘average’ person to do will hinder the growth.
Successful network marketing offers many benefits. Passive residual income, no boss, no commute, no dress code, income tax reduction, more time with family, hobbies, or whatever is important to the individual, including above average income, and much more.

How To Create An Online Business

A business online works the same as an offline direct mail company. The process is the same, but the expenses are extremely different.
I come from the old school. I used direct mail to run my home business. This was before the internet became so popular.
Lessons From “Old School” Direct Mail Marketing
I got started in 2003 with my first home business. At the time, my upline taught me various offline marketing strategies to market my business. This required you to spend some of you my own money before I ever saw an order come through. Here is what a typical small campaign looked like using today’s prices.
Product Information booklet
Marketing campaign: 1,000 postcards to entrepreneurs
- List rental: $60
- Design: $100
- Printing: $100
- Postage: $520

Total Cost: $780
Before selling a copy of your booklet, you had to handover $780. If your campaign received a normal direct mail response of 1% (sometimes less), you sold 10 booklets.
Your marketing cost per sale was $78 (780 marketing cost/10 customers). If you priced your booklet at $50, you lost money on your first order.
$50 price tag
-$1 cost to produce
- $2 postage to send the booklet
-$78 marketing
________________
-$31 Total loss per order
Using direct mail often ended up being expensive. The only way to make money was by offering the customers back-end products.
Back-end products are items that you sell to your current customers. by eliminating the upfront marketing costs, your profit margin was higher. The lifetime value of a customer became extremely important to the company’s success.
The only way to stay profitable was to spend money on marketing to gain new customer and then market back-end products to them.
For instance, if a customer bought a $50 booklet from your postcard campaign, you lost $31. If that same customer bought a second information booklet for $50.00, your profit was $46.47.
This is how you do the math:
$50 order
-$1 product cost
-$0.01 printing second postcard in the series
-$.52 postcard postage
-$2 postage to send the booklet

Isn’t It Cheaper To Place Classified Ads?
Well, let’s see. Because the classified section in my local newspaper was too expensive, I would place my ads in smaller newspapers around the country. My ads regularly brought in 2-5 leads per ad.
Leads from the newspapers ad section weren’t sales. They were people who raised their hand to show that they were interested in more information about the product. They would call or send an email request.
Generally, people who requested more information were at least mildly interested in the product. This “warm market” would convert from request to purchase about 10% of the time; meaning 1 out of 10 information requests would turn into a sale.
To be effective, the classified ad had to run for about 5 days to build up enough response to turn into sales.
Looking at the math:
Product: Information booklet
Campaign: Classified Ads
Newspaper insertion: $40 per day X 5 days= $200
Total cost per month: $200
A good week would generate about 25 leads, which turned into 12.5 sales; we’ll just say 13 sales.
3 leads X $50 = $150 total sales.
In this case, each customer cost 66.67 (200 ad costs / 3 customers). Then this happens:
$50.00 order
-$1.00 product cost
-66.67 advertising
-$2.00 postage to send the booklet
______________________________
-19.67 Total per order
It cost $19.67 per customer to first order from a classified.
So, both methods lost money on the first sale. Classified advertising lost less money, but gained fewer customer to make end sales. Direct mail lost more money upfront, but gained more customers and increased the number of back and sales.
Overall, direct mail made more money because of back end sales.
Building Business online:
The cost of setting up a business online is next to nothing. For about $10.00 you can have a domain, and maybe hosting for less than 100, depending on who you use for your domain registration. There are a number of places to go for domain registration. NameCheap, HostGator, or GoDaddy, just to name a few.
Theoretically, anyone can make money online. The barriers to running a business cost very little due to the internet.
If we go back to the original example, the $50 information booklet online compared to the costs incurred when the books were offered offline.
$50.00 order
$00.00 product cost – offered as a PDF file
$00.00 advertising – use free advertising and joint ventures
$00.00 delivery cost – offered as a download

There is no comparison. You are profiting from your very first sale! And your business grows by leaps and bounds when you add back-end products.
You don’t even have to pack up any products and run them out to the post office. It is all done on autopilot for you.
The people who are making money online understand this concept. These individuals who are still struggling, do not understand the concept.
The biggest roadblock to doing business online is people’s mindset and misconceptions. They’ve heard it is easy to make money on the internet. The know it is possible because they have heard the many success stories. They bought ebooks and signed up for lots of programs, yet their back accounts are still empty.
What is the solution?
Mindset ==> Education ==> Action
The first thing that needs to be done is to change people’s mindset. Doing business on the internet is very profitable, but only if you run it like a business.
Think about this. You are sitting in your living room and you are trying to decide how to make money. You decide that you have only two options. You could start your own company or you could become a brain surgeon. Both options offer very high income potentials.
If you decide to go the brain surgeon route, you have many years of study ahead of you and a mountain of costs before you even have the chance to make your first dollar as a surgeon.
And this is where the problem occurs for many people.

Online Marketing Myths And Tips

You have probably seen all sorts of sites stating that they can get you loads of traffic. It is true that you need a reasonable amount of traffic if you expect to make any money. But, instead of trying to get as much traffic as possible, focus on getting targeted traffic.
For example, there are plenty of sites that will “drive” traffic to your website by partnering you with other sites in their system. This type of traffic is useless. Most of these people are trying to earn enough “credits” to get their own website displayed, so you end up with visitors who have no interest in what you are selling. They’re just ‘traffic’ for the sake of getting traffic!
Traffic, by itself means nothing. SALES are what you are after!
Not So Effective Traffic Generating Methods:
There are many ways to get “traffic”. Here are a few:
- Free For All (FFA) sites. I have never had good experience with them. In fact, the results were pathetic and I don’t know of anyone who has. FFA sites allow you to post your link alongside thousands of others doing exactly the same thing. What normally happens is you end up receiving a bunch of junk mail in you email inbox.
Some people believe that it helps with “link popularity” (used by many major search engines to help determine your ranking). Not true. These are not targeted links, on an obvious “link farm” and often times your link drops off the bottom of the page very quickly in order to make room for new links being posted.
Another reason some people advocate FFA sites is to “get hits”. Again, I disagree. Along with being not targeted, most people visit FFA sites to post a link, not to read them.
You can still find places that sell you your very own FFA site. As the owner, you are supposed to have the right to email a confirmation message. ( which typically contains your sales pitch) to everyone who posts a link on your site. But you run a high risk of being reported as a “spammer’ and getting shut down, even if you explicitly state that posters agree to receive one email message from you. Spam is in the eye of the beholder.
Free Classifieds:
It is tempting to post to free classifieds and ad sites because it is free. But, “free” isn’t a bargain if you don’t get results. You still put in the time and effort, which is wasted.
Most people go to free classified ad sites to post their own ads, not to read them.
Start Page Program:
These program provide you with an opportunity to band together with a bunch of other sites to get traffic. You get set you “start page” to a specific URL, and a script rotates through the participating sites and displays one every time you open your browser (there may be additional conditions attached).
Most people appear to be using the program to earn enough “credits” to get their own site displayed; they’re not actually interested in viewing any of the other sites.
If you do want to try a start page program, set you web page to a specific action-oriented page (such as, as direct sales letter or a newsletter subscription form) that’s as targeted to the people joining the network as you can manage.
Exit Page Programs:
These work in much the same way as a start page network. But this time, one of the sites in the network pops up as the visitor leaves the site. I’ve had poor results…probably because most people are just interested in getting more ‘hits’ rather than displaying any real interest in the other sites in the network.
Safe Lists:
In short, don’t use them. “Safe Lists” are nothing but harvested email addresses. The recipients are not likely to be pleased to receive unsolicited email and your risk of being shut down due to “spam” is high. Legitimate email lists exists, but they’ll cost you a pretty penny…don’t be fooled into believing you can email millions of people for a couple of hundred dollars.
Banner Ads:
Unless you are advertising in a high traffic and very targeted website, the cost of banner ad probably won’t give you a good rate on return. Surfers are accustomed to seeing banners and for the most part, they’re easily ignored.
Link or Banner Exchanges:
You can join a network of webmasters who display one another’s banners or links on their websites (banners and links are rotated via a script). I haven’t had much success with these. Although you can usually specify which category you want to be placed in, you don’t have any control over the sites that join the network/category. That means you could be displaying a link or banner you don’t approve of, one for direct competitor, etc.
Finally, a quick word on the “latest-and-greatest” traffic generating fads. You will see them all over the place, being touted on websites and in eBooks, particularly when it comes to getting a good position on the search engines. Learning new things is necessary, but exercise caution. Cutting edge techniques that work today, may not work tomorrow.

What Is The Affiliate Marketing Concept?

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.
There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.
What are these three tactics?
1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.
Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.
You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.
2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.
Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.
Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before even anyone reading them first. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.
3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that is focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.
Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.
Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.
The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.
Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do.
